A leading insurance & benefits company was in need of 50,000 units of low cost, 4” x 4” custom printed microfiber cleaning cloth to use as a giveaway item to be sent via direct mail to their targeted mailing list. They came to Brand Spirit in need of a customized solution.
THE CHALLENGES
- Produce a quality microfiber cloth at a very low price point
- The promotional item should be designed to easily run through the direct mail houses’ automated machine.
- The order needed to be produced and shipped within 4 weeks
THE SOLUTIONS
The clients’ request for an affordable promotional giveaway to fulfill their bulk order was solved when we recommended one of our soft microfiber cleaning cloths manufactured overseas, factory-direct in China. The item they chose to go with was printed in full color on one side with a cost of just pennies each, which included air shipping to 1 location in the USA.

Brand Spirit was also able to save our client thousands of dollars in manual labor costs at their mail house by poly bagging each cloth flat (rather than folded) and including a white card-stock backer behind each microfiber cloth. The card backer added the sturdiness needed to run through the automated machine collation. Otherwise, without the backer, the cloth itself was too flexible. And if the cloths were folded instead of flat, the folded cloth would have added too much bulk to the envelope which would have also increased the bulk postage cost substantially. The envelopes the client used were is 6”x 9.5” which is an ideal size for mailers.
Besides the 4″ x 4″ microfiber cloths, we also offer additional sizes including 6″ x 6″ or 7″ x 7″ factory-direct from overseas as well.
We make it a point to provide as many possible cost-saving options for our clients, especially for large orders where every penny really counts.
In the end, our client was very happy with their custom gifts and the money they saved in the process.
